Pointe Coupee Parish COVID-19 Relief Fund

Pointe Coupee Parish COVID-19 Relief Fund

Recently, area businesses and residents contacted the parish and Hope Ministry on how they could help our citizens during the Covid 19 pandemic. Realizing there is a gap in helping those who are normally employed, but have had their hours reduced or have been laid off due to Covid 19, a fund has been established to provide those employees some relief. Examples of those employees would be those working in foodservice, bartenders, non-essential retail, barbers, cosmetologist, and any person deemed non-essential by their employer.

The first round of funding has been graciously provided by CLECO, Shelter Insurance, and Brookshire, with additional funding committed by Union Pacific, Enbridge, Pointe Coupee Electric, New Roads Lions Club, and numerous parish residents.

The One Pointe Coupee Fund was established with the vision of providing help to our residents during times of crisis. One Pointe Coupee in conjunction with Pointe Coupee Parish Government, and Hope Ministry of Pointe Coupee will be taking applications for assistance for those who have become unemployed or underemployed due to the Covid 19 pandemic, and need assistance.

Pointe Coupee Parish residents may obtain an application at www.pcparish.org or outside the Courthouse Annex at 160 East Main St. in New Roads. Completed forms can be mailed to the address on the form or dropped in the mail slot at the Courthouse Annex. No applications will be taken by phone. The deadline is Noon, May 15th.
